Referrals and Admissions

Amberley Court School is a specialist setting for children and young people aged 6 to 16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our pupils may be neurodivergent and often have significant Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many have experienced challenges in previous school environments, and our approach is designed to help them feel safe, understood, and ready to re-engage with learning.

Our Admissions Process

Referrals are usually made through a pupil’s local authority, but we also welcome enquiries directly from parents, carers, or other professionals. We currently accept referrals from West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, Hampshire, and surrounding areas.

Once a referral is received, we carefully review whether our school is the right fit for the child’s needs. If so, we invite the young person and their family to visit us, meet our team, and experience the nurturing environment we offer. This is an opportunity to explore our curriculum, ask questions, and get a feel for daily life at Amberley Court.

If everyone agrees that the school is a good match, and the placement is supported by the local authority, we will work closely with all     involved to ensure a smooth, supportive transition.
